• About Me

I am a passionate and driven guy who finished a Bachelors of Honours degree in Environmental Science from The University of Northampton. After completing my study, I spent a year doing baseline surveys and reporting on solid waste management. Following that, I was involved in survey, monitoring and evaluation of Clean Development Mechanism to calculate emission reductions and determine community benefits associated. Previously, I spent years learning and expanding myself, where I established and optimized strategic plans for several organizations and managed a subgroup of volunteers and workers as Team leader.

During my time at NEEDS, I was in charge of scheduling participants and study team for meeting, developing project plans and coordinating teams for specific activities. In addition, I contributed to the development of data collection methods that were adhered to regulations and collected data with high integrity. Following data collection, I used data analysis programs skillfully to draw conclusions about the research hypotheses. As an Enumerator at Swisscontact, I was able to collaborate with a team of academics to collect data from the community more successfully and quickly than past techniques. Previously, through an internship and work experience, I was exposed to studies on carbon reduction mechanisms and renewable energy. This useful experience, together with my academic background in research methodology, provides me with a solid foundation for carrying out the duties of an environmental research assistant. I particularly love working with the research team to establish specific hypotheses and data gathering procedures as a Research Assistant.

I am aware of prevalent inequalities and development challenges in the least developed country in South Asia. It always intrigued me to realize an interconnection that such social and environmental issues have on the overall development of a community and the nation. Moreover, I have grown a keen interest in subjects such as community development, Environmental Challenges, Research and Innovation for Sustainable Development and Conflict Resolution. The increasing scope in the field of Environment both in terms of career opportunity and positive impact that I can be part of convinced me to pursue my career in environment or related fields.

Like any other underdeveloped country in the world, Nepal is also exemplified by poverty, gender inequality, and corruption, which has become a hindrance in the development process of the country. The development opportunities in future require new ways of thinking i.e. responding to the future challenges with creative, culturally sensitive ways with a pragmatic approach. Environmental Issues, Human Rights, Sustainable Solutions, Conflict Resolution in Groups and Communities, Migration Culture & Identity are everyday challenges widespread in Nepal. Having a stronger understanding of these phenomena is critical in creating a long-term sustainable impact at both global and local level. It requires leaders with critical understanding of the condition of development and their impact at both local and global level to address these issues.
